This year the NYSSRC offered scholarships to each of the 13 CoARC approved programs in NYS. Stony Brook University School of Health Technology and Management’s Respiratory Care program selected ten students to receive this year’s scholarship based on participation in professional activities above and beyond the program’s graduation requirement.
May 6 marked the first ever Student Professional Development Day at BMCC. This was a joint NYSSRC / New York Downstate Association Respiratory Therapy (NYDART) event in which NYS RT students were invited to attend a one-day seminar focused on professional development and included a ventilator workshop run by highly respected local practitioners. New York State RTs are being called to action to get involved with their institutions’ projects surrounding this financially substantial initiative.
