Dear NYSSRC Members,
It is almost time to begin the 2025 elections. We are looking forward to everyone participating in this, as it will help us to shape our Board for the next couple of years and perhaps beyond. It is extremely important to vote, and we ask that you do so even for those positions, which are running uncontested, as it is a requirement of our bylaws that we meet minimum participation thresholds for a valid election. Voting is NOT currently active but is anticipated to be made available on December 1, 2025, and will be open until 11:59pm on December 31, 2025. Our date of record is going to be November 16, 2025, which means that all active AARC members on that date with NYS addresses will be eligible to vote. So, if you are not a member or your membership has lapsed now is a good time to join/renew and let your voice be heard!
Please note that unless otherwise specified all of these positions have one vacancy pending. A provision for write-ins will be available as well. Individuals who win these elections will join the returning board members at the Annual Business Meeting in April 2026. The link to the ballots for voting is available below. Without further ado, here are the candidates on the slate as approved by the current Board of Directors.

Brief bio narrative:
I am honored to put forward my candidacy for a position on the NYSSRC Board of Directors. My journey in respiratory therapy began with earning my Bachelor of Science from Stony Brook University in 2007.
My foundational experience was built over 11 years at Stony Brook University Hospital, where I developed a comprehensive skill set working with a vast spectrum of patients, from delicate neonates to the geriatric population. This extensive clinical background provided me with invaluable insight into diverse patient needs and complex respiratory conditions.
Eager to broaden my perspective and expertise, I subsequently contributed to various healthcare systems, including the Catholic Health System and Northwell Health. This exposure to different operational models and patient demographics enriched my understanding of healthcare delivery.
My professional path led me to Peconic Bay Medical Center, a Northwell Health facility, where I, like many of my colleagues, served on the frontlines during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. This challenging period profoundly reinforced my conviction in the essential and ever-evolving role of respiratory therapists, deepening my commitment to our profession's recognition and advancement.
My dedication to patient care and professional development culminated in my promotion to Manager, and then to Director of Respiratory Therapy Services in 2022. In this leadership capacity, I am responsible for overseeing the entire scope of respiratory therapy programs, including specialized pulmonary function testing and comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation services.
Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in performance improvement initiatives, leading projects that have directly enhanced patient outcomes and elevated the role of respiratory therapists. For instance, I spearheaded efforts to increase our educational programs for COPD patients, which demonstrably led to a decrease in readmissions. Additionally, I piloted therapist-driven protocols, significantly increasing early interventions with high-flow nasal cannula in the Emergency Department. This proactive approach effectively decreased the escalation of care to the ICU and reduced the need for invasive mechanical ventilation.
My leadership philosophy emphasizes collaborative problem-solving, data-driven improvements, and proactive advocacy for our profession. I believe the NYSSRC plays a crucial role in strengthening our legislative voice, expanding educational opportunities for members, and promoting the value of RTs to the public. Having experienced the profession from the bedside to executive leadership and actively contributing to system-wide improvements, I am eager to leverage my strategic insights, diverse clinical background, and unwavering passion to help guide the NYSSRC in navigating future challenges and maximizing opportunities for respiratory therapists across New York State.
I am confident that my blend of hands-on experience and administrative leadership will allow me to make significant contributions to the NYSSRC Board of Directors and advocate for our dedicated professionals.
